Why not punch
Glass, Mirror, Vase?
For fear of pain,
or for fear of breaking
in half;
something you pray
not to break?
Perhaps because
replacing
Glass, Mirror, Vase
costs you-
money, blood, time.
Why not hammer
Fragility, Brittleness, Frailness?
For guilt of destroying,
or for guilt of breaking
down;
something you trust
not to discard?
Perhaps because
replacing
Fragility, Brittleness, Frailness,
takes from you-
strength, improvement, love.
Why not crush
Bones, Mind, Heart?
For regret of action,
or for regret of the resulting
rivers of salt;
something you live
just to prevent?
Perhaps because
replacing
Bones, Mind, Heart
hurts you-
agony, insanity, hate.
Glass-Mirror-Vase;
punch it and watch it shatter,
fingernail sized knives
raining on your limbs,
embedding in flesh
like seeds in dirt.
Replace and always see
difference in
Window-Reflection-Flower.
Fragility-Brittleness-Frailness;
hammer it and watch it give,
facts and secrets
you push into closets,
like burying treasure from pirates.
Replace and always see
difference in
Protection-Sword-Body.
Bones-Mind-Heart;
crush it and watch it weep,
streams of ocean water
you wipe and bear,
like SOS signals in the sand.
Replace and always see
difference in
Movement-Thinking-Loving.
