there are times to break:
not before the storm because then you can’t prepare,
not during the storm because then you are swept away,
not after the storm because there is another one coming.
there are times to break:
perpetually, constantly. there is
so much to do, so little time to give, so
“give all of it,” she requests, and
like no beggar,
you give.

the eye of the storm blinks your tears.
there are times to break:
the wind of yourself shakes you &
you shatter with

unsaid—
and there are times to break
